EN: NOTHING IS THE SAME AS BEFORE AND THAT’S OKAY (Digital Poem-Series)
“Ekkert er eins og áður var og það er allt í lagi” (Icelandic) is a personal Poem-Series about the heavy emotions that burst up after a heartbreak. The series includes eight pictures with eight self-written poems and visuals that were all created in the program Gimp. The series where made over the spring and summer of 2021 and released on the 15th. of July the same year on Instagram.

one broken heart
splash of tears
in the blender
“ON”
tall glass
and chug!

the most handsome fish in the sea
which had a soul of gems
and made it easy to swim
through strong streams
because the path was crystal clear
if she could only come with

on the bottom of the sea lie shells
and each is keeping a pear
she picks one
puts her thumbs on the lips
and pushes them apart
a tiny rupture emerges
flash of memories
so she lets go
and the shell clicks back together
sinks slowly and smoothly
back to the bottom

question: is she allowed to grief when she’s the one responsible?

gasoline on the flames
to watch everything burn
no future plans
and no letter back
only biting hesitation
and meaningless words
like it floated on the surface
she left

she dries the tears
and trusts that time
stands by her side
asks herself
what if
but the butterflies had flown away
and the pieces were to fragile
to glue back together

SCOOPS OF THE DAY
she read out loud
while they waited in the evening glow
during their summer
has disappeared of the wall
now a brand new ice cream menu
and a different atmosphere
like a new ice cream shop
a bittersweet feeling
because nothing is the same as before
and that’s okay
